How do I find all of these abandoned places, you ask? Well, I spend hours researching about derelict buildings. Not only that, but there is an urban exploration (AKA: Urbex) community, which is very tightly knit, that shares secret locations with one another. If you're lucky, you might meet some of us.

The Abandoned Ford Motors Factory
Okay! So. About half way through my time on Vans Warped Tour we had a day off in Brunswick, GA. I am not 100% sure if this was indeed a Ford Factory or not, but I found an ID badge for one, As much as I love being alone when I go take photos, I knew that going alone in a town I had never been to, where Uber was the only mode of transportation, would be reckless and potentially dangerous.
Enter Jake. Jake was on my bus. He thinks he's punk rock, but he's really just a big teddy...that likes getting smashed in the back with florescent lights. He's a crazy mother fu$@Kr! I knew that he'd keep me safe. So, in we went.
Getting Past Security
Lol. We went on a Sunday. No one gives an F on Sunday's. There was an active guard post, but no "No Trespassing" signs, and fence was open.
I always get butterflies in my chest before I step into a new bando*. and Jake picked up that bike from the photoset above, and rode right past the "NO BIKES" sign, that was bolted to the side of the main factory entrance. Stick it to the man, Jake!
*bando (n,): slang term for an abandoned building
Let the Exploration Begin
So, we walked into this place and it was MASSIVE!!! I was blown away by the size of it. You could have fit at least one 747 in this place. I didn't even know where to begin, because we only had three hours to explore the place. That may seem like a super long time to be in an abandoned building, but think about when you walk around a museum. You take your time to appreciate what you're looking at.
The Spoils
I don't need to say much about this, but this section is where I'll post photos of the "museum-esque" objects and structures of the Ford Factory.
Note: that Dr. Pepper can was not mine! Surprising, because it is the only thing I drink. I mean...who drinks water, right?
THE ESCAPE!
Alright, the grand escape! Jake ordered an Uber, I flew my drone, after smashing a light bulb over Jake's back, and we walked out. Oh, yeah, Jake told me to smash a florescent lightbulb over his back. Yeah, they are toxic. Yes, he bled. No, he didn't die. How's that for punk rock?
For a quick three hour exploration, I had a blast discovering the hidden secrets of this place. Check out that video at the top to see some of those "secrets." We basically turned into detectives that day.
