February 2017 Projects

So, first off, welcome to the new site! I switched services from Squarespace to Wix.com, because Squarespace isn't very customisable and you can't do much as far as SEO goes. If you've never run a website before, SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization," which basically means, how easy is it for people to find you online, via google, or any other web search system. Wix is fully customisable and I love it so far!

So, let's get into February's Projects!

Alternative Press Magazine

The biggest project I've worked on so far with AP was the intro video, announcing the new host for the 2017 Alternative Press Music Awards: Andy Biersack. This shoot was crazy fun! We filmed it at Kevin Lyman's house, which was awesome (thanks Kevin), and I got to work with some big names. The All Time Low fellas were great to work with, and extremely funny! Let me just say, the bloopers for this video are hillarious, and I'm trying to convince AP to let me post that video on my Youtube Channel. This was the second time I worked with Andy, and once again, he was great to work with. I'm sure we will be seeing a lot of each other this year (hint hint). This video was a bitch to edit, but it was a team effort, and to everyone that helped, thank you a million times.

I also filmed a second video for AP that will be coming out in March, so I can't say anything about it just yet. Stay tuned!

Corporate Work

So, a huge problem that freelancers have is that they stick to one type of work. They work only on music, or nature, or studio, or corporate projects. It's important to be as diverse as you can be. It will help you not only grow your portfolio, but it will also help you learn how to film, photograph, edit different types of videos, which will then add to your unique style of creating. Don't get stuck!

This month I worked on some audio editing for a company called Val Genesis. They're a company that takes paper based products out of the equation for companies and simplifies their work duties by going digital. They're basically creating robots to replace humans.

I've also been editing intro videos for a Real Estate Company based out of Los Angeles. I'm not sure if I can post any of those videos just yet, but the company is AARE. If you're looking for an agent, check them out at AARE.com. Great team! I love working with them! They're also doing a lot of non profit work!

Personal Projects

It's extremely important that you take the time to work on something you love, that may or may not make you money, because it will lead you to bigger and better opportunities! Everyone says that the best information is free. I can't take my knowledge with me when I die, so I want to give it to you. I hope you take my advice and run with it!

Photo Mob Meet Ups

I say this every time I post a video or blog. If there are any type of creative meet ups in your area, GO TO THEM!!! They're a great way to meet new friends that you otherwise wouldn't have met, network, and have a blasty-blast, as Dane Cook would say! I've been going to a meet up almost every single week in Los Angeles, to photograph and film models, masked people, skateboarders, fire breathers, and other crazy characters. I've made some amazing friends and have never had so much fun working with other photographers! Enjoy!

LGBT Videos

As an LGBT member, I feel that I have a responsibility to stand up for the struggling youth of today. It's 2017 and parents still abuse, neglect, and ship their kids off to camps, because they're gay. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING GAY!

Every Friday I post an LGBT related video on my Youtube Channel, where I give advice, experience, and a few laughs to those who need it the most. I never had anyone there for me, but I was fortunate enough to have supportive parents. I know some of you aren't so lucky. I hope I can help you get through the dark times.
